Naruhodo! OIC Japan | 2 Changes of This Blog
This article is about some changes in this blog, BIG CHANGES! (for me though lol) I think every small thought and mindset changes should be appreciated and written down, so that I could reflect how I have grown mentally when I read back this blog in the future. So this is totally worth writing down. 🙂 (for me again lol)
2 Changes of This Blog
Here are the 2 changes in this blog.
#1 From a random blog -> Introduce-Japan blog
As you can see from my sidebar, the Facebook page like box has changed from “なる好ど-Naruhodo Life Sharing” to “Shen Lim TV”.
Before, i was introducing world content in Japanese language. But I found my passion more on introducing Japan to world. This is what I am confident to do and passionate about.
I would like to ask you a favor. If you have liked my previous Facebook page, please like my new page – Shen Lim TV
You can click the Like Box on the side bar or click below image to link to the page. ^^ If you haven’t liked it, I would be very happy if you could like it now. I promise I will work hard and provide Japan contents to you regularly ^^
#2 From Japanese writing -> English writing
WHY I changed?
I started this blog – Naruhodo Japan, in order to improve my Japanese writing skill. Nothing much, just writing about anything I experienced in Japan because I was told that writing skill will matter a lot during the job hunting in Japan. (which I will be doing from next semester)
Writing a blog is not an easy job. It’s a competition, a battle, a fight with your patience. Many people can’t continue doing it, no exception, I couldn’t make it too. School assignment, meeting friends, gym, drinking party, cleaning, thinking, daydreaming….bla bla bla…It’s so hard to continue!
No! I can’t surrender!
I told my self “At least 3 articles a week!“. If I can’t even make this, how am I going to deal with the real job?! I brainwashed myself.
At first, I was writing random stuff in Japanese language. Like how to learn English, how to be positive, how to decorate your room… I was like half-forcing myself to write about any topic everyday. Finally I made it! 3 articles a week. But I felt my motivation kept going down – who am I writing to?
YES! Who am I writing to?
I wrote random topics and nobody gives a damn shit about my articles. I got ZERO comments for every article. It was so discouraging.
I was disappointed by Japanese writing. I know some of my Japanese friends were reading my articles, but they never talk to me. Then I thought,
“Okay, why not I write in English and tell my friends in Malaysia how my life is going on in Japan?”
I started writing my first article in English – Japan Culture Shock | Japanese never say their names back. and BOOM! On the same day, I got a comment from my Taiwanese friend. I was so excited! and became motivated to write again.
My second English article – Kyoto Life | APU vs RU students, culture shock! – got another comment from an Indonesian, whom I never met before. He saw my post shared on his facebook news feed and clicked to visit. He is a Japan big fan and passionate of talking about everything in Japan. Because of his passionate comments, I felt my blog finally producing some values to the society! BTW, his name is Hamyo. Thanks Hamyo for supporting my blog always. ^^ And I like your new blog design. 😉
YES! Instead of writing random stuff in Japanese to nobody, I can write something about Japan in English! This is what I have experienced and I know many people out there may want to know about it.
So I decided to change my blog purpose, from “Practicing writing skills”, to “Introduce Japan to the world”.
I hope you can find something interesting about Japan here through my Japan life experiences, and say “OIC!” (Oh I see!, which is “Naruhodo!” in Japanese language)
Thanks for reading this boring article again. I hope to see you again in my next post ^^
